

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s UK visit has resulted in investment commitments worth Rs 15,300 crore, according to the state government. The six day visit is expected to generate more than 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The commitments span sectors including auto components, advanced manufacturing, engineering, renewable energy, digital technology and Global Capability Centres.
During the visit, Vijay held meetings with business representatives and officials to showcase Tamil Nadu’s investment potential. Samvardhana Motherson International has committed Rs 11,000 crore towards design, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and assembly facilities, with other companies also announcing investment plans. After returning to Chennai, Vijay directed officials to take steps to facilitate the implementation of the investment commitments.
