The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that repair and maintenance works at the sacred Swami Pushkarini, located on the northern side of the Sri Venkateswara Temple, will begin on August 1. The annual maintenance is being carried out as part of the traditional preparations ahead of the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam. The TTD Water Works Department will oversee the repairs throughout August.
As a precautionary measure in view of the monsoon and possible storms, the Pushkarini will also remain closed from September 1 to 10. Consequently, Pushkarini Harathi will be suspended and devotees will not be permitted to take a holy dip from August 1 to September 10, a total of 40 days. TTD stated that all works will be completed before the Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam, beginning on September 15, and appealed to devotees to cooperate by following the temple administration's guidelines.
