US President Donald Trump stated that there has been no gap in action regarding strikes on Iran, but clarified that operations were paused to allow time for diplomatic talks. He warned that if the ongoing negotiations fail, the United States would resume attacks at an intensified level. Meanwhile, mediators indicated that there has been some positive progress in the discussions between the two sides.
At the same time, Iran-backed militants in Iraq continued their attacks targeting Saudi Arabia. Jordan announced that it had intercepted and shot down two drones. Notably, both the United States and Iran have refrained from direct attacks since the past weekend, with Iran stating that it halted its actions following the suspension of US strikes.
