Indian-origin couple Anuradha and Vikas Sinha have made a $20 million donation, approximately ₹191 crore, to the University of North Texas (UNT), where Vikas earned his PhD. The couple completed their bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering at Sri Venkateswara University in India before moving to the US for higher education. The contribution will establish the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics.
The donation will support artificial intelligence and advanced analytics research, student scholarships, entrepreneurship and incubation programmes, faculty positions, emerging technologies and other academic initiatives. Vikas Sinha currently serves as a vice president in Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division. The couple said their education opened doors for them and that they wanted to create similar opportunities for future generations of students.
