Telangana government Gives Green Signal for Hike in ‘The Paradise’ Ticket Prices

Natural Star Nani’s upcoming film ‘The Paradise’, directed by Sreekanth Odela, has received special permissions from the Telangana government ahead of its theatrical release on September 24. The government has allowed a special premiere show on September 23 at 6:30 PM, a day before the official release, with the ticket price fixed at ₹500 inclusive of GST. The film has also been permitted to have five shows per day across theatres in Telangana from September 24. Additional ticket charges have been approved for the first ten days. Multiplexes and special theatres can charge an additional ₹95 per ticket from September 24 to 27 and ₹45 from September 28 to October 3. Single screen theatres can charge an additional ₹48 and ₹23 during the respective periods, with GST included in these additional amounts.

Along with approving the ticket price hike, the government has imposed certain conditions on the producers. The makers have been directed to contribute ₹1 crore to the Telugu Film Industry Employees Welfare Committee, with the funds to be used for the welfare of workers and employees in the film industry under the Telangana Film Development Corporation. The government has also instructed theatres to screen awareness advertisements on the harmful effects of drugs and cybercrime during film screenings. District collectors, police commissioners and concerned licensing authorities have been asked to ensure strict implementation of these conditions. With high expectations surrounding Nani and Sreekanth Odela’s ‘The Paradise’, the special premiere, revised ticket prices and permission for five daily shows have added further interest ahead of its release.
