Telangana Government Faces Setback in Shantha Sriram Case

The Telangana government has faced a setback in the Shantha Sriram Constructions case after the Supreme Court dismissed its petition challenging the Telangana High Court’s judgment. The case came up for hearing before a bench headed by Justice Dipankar Datta on Tuesday. The Supreme Court observed that the state had failed to challenge the High Court order within the stipulated time and clarified that the petition could not be entertained as it was filed belatedly.

The petition was accordingly dismissed by the Supreme Court bench. Earlier, the Telangana High Court had directed the removal of HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath in connection with the same case. The latest Supreme Court decision means the state government’s challenge to the High Court judgment has not been entertained on the ground of delay.
