Telangana Assembly Adjourned Sine Die After Eight-Day Monsoon Session

The Telangana Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on September 18, bringing the eight-day monsoon session to an end. The session, which began on September 7, recorded 51 hours and 52 minutes of proceedings. Several issues were discussed during the session, including land-related matters under Section 22-A, water availability, agriculture, roads, electricity and other public concerns. Four Bills were also passed, while short-duration discussions were held on several subjects.

On the final day, the Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution moved by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka seeking comprehensive assistance from the Centre to address the impact of El Niño and rainfall-deficit conditions. The resolution sought a Rs 20,000-crore special package, crop-loss compensation and input support for farmers, an additional 50 days of employment, 1,500 MW of additional power and 50 lakh tonnes of coal. It also sought support for drinking water, irrigation, tank restoration and groundwater recharge, besides raising the 2026–27 FRBM borrowing limit from 3% to 3.5% of GSDP.
