Tabu Approaches High Court Over AI Deepfakes

The misuse of AI technology to create fake videos, images, and voice clips of film celebrities has increased significantly in recent times, causing damage to their reputation. Following several actors who sought legal protection against such misuse, veteran actress Tabu has now approached the Delhi High Court, seeking protection against the unauthorized use of her name, photographs, and voice.

Tabu objected to the creation of AI generated deepfakes, fake social media accounts, and the commercial use of her identity without prior permission. During the hearing, Justice Jyoti Singh reportedly found errors in the documents submitted by Tabu's legal team and directed them to file corrected papers with complete details. The court adjourned the matter to August 6 for further hearing after the revised documents are submitted.
