Prashant Kishor Criticises Government Over Jamui Student Harassment Case

Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has criticised the government following the alleged harassment and assault of two Class 10 students in Bihar’s Jamui district. Reacting to the incident, Kishor questioned the government’s approach to women’s safety and referred to the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” messaging in his political remarks.

The incident came to light after videos showing a teenage boy and girl being stopped, surrounded and allegedly harassed by a group circulated on social media. Jamui Police registered a case under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act and arrested three people. A Special Investigation Team has also been formed to investigate the case, while efforts to identify other individuals allegedly involved are continuing.
