Congress leader Pawan Khera launched a fresh attack on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, questioning the legal status, registration details, and transparency of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Addressing a press conference, Khera argued that if ordinary citizens are expected to produce documents to establish their identity or citizenship, organisations that influence public life should also disclose their records and registration details.
Khera stated that the RSS should publicly clarify information related to its registration and organisational structure. His remarks come amid ongoing political differences between the Congress and the RSS over issues such as citizenship, governance, and the role of ideological organisations in public affairs. The RSS has not yet responded to the latest comments, while maintaining in the past that it functions within the legal framework and works for national and social causes.
