

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the leaders of BRICS member countries for making the two-day summit productive and focused on concrete outcomes. On Sunday, he shared a video on social media featuring key moments from the summit and expressed satisfaction over its successful conclusion. A portion of Modi’s speech at the summit was also included in the video, in which he highlighted India’s efforts to strengthen friendship, partnership and cooperation across different sectors through the BRICS platform.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other BRICS leaders have since concluded their participation and departed for their respective countries. Xi arrived in Delhi on Saturday with a large delegation of officials and business representatives, marking his first visit to India in seven years. During his two-day visit, he participated in several engagements and held a separate meeting with Modi. The two leaders discussed issues including reducing the trade imbalance between India and China and addressing challenges such as terrorism. Putin had arrived in Delhi on Friday.
