Peddagutta Venkateswara Swamy Temple Gains Attention in Mahabubabad

Peddagutta Sri Venkateswara Swamy shrine is located on the borders of Nayakapalli, Bollepalli and Rajanapalli villages in Gudur mandal of Mahabubabad district. According to local accounts, the shrine gained prominence around 50 years ago after footprints believed by devotees to be those of Lord Venkateswara were found on the hill. Since then, worship and celebrations were traditionally held on Saturdays during the month of Shravana.

Locals say that worship at the hill had stopped for nearly two decades due to various reasons. Recently, villagers reported that Lord Venkateswara appeared in dreams and instructed them to restart worship at the hill. Following this, devotees returned to the site and resumed traditional rituals, including the offering of incense, lamps and food. As interest in the shrine grows, residents of the surrounding villages are requesting official Brahmotsavam celebrations and support from the authorities and Endowments Department for the development of the temple.
