Muslim Voters Stay Alert During SIR Drive

Muslim voters in Telangana have stepped up participation in the ongoing SIR voter registration and verification process, expressing concern over the possibility of eligible names being removed from electoral rolls. In Hyderabad's Old City and several minority-dominated districts, mosque committees and community organisations are assisting residents in verifying their voter details and completing the required formalities to safeguard their voting rights.

With an estimated Muslim population of around 4.5 million and nearly 30 to 32 million registered Muslim voters across the state, the community plays a significant role in Telangana's electoral landscape. In more than 30 Assembly constituencies, Muslim voters are considered influential in determining election outcomes. This has led to increased awareness campaigns and active participation in the verification process to ensure every eligible voter remains on the electoral rolls.
