Modi Discusses Ukraine War With Putin.. Calls for Peace Through Dialogue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the ongoing Ukraine war. Modi urged Putin to work towards ending the conflict and emphasized that lasting peace can be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy. He also assured that India would continue to support efforts aimed at establishing peace between the two sides.

During the discussions, Modi expressed concern over the conflict in West Asia and tensions in the Black Sea region, particularly with regard to the safety of sailors. Putin also invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Russia for the 24th India-Russia Summit. In a separate message, Modi highlighted India’s growing role in global development and said BRICS countries account for 20 percent of world trade. He noted that BRICS is contributing to sustainable development, cooperation and innovation, while India is rapidly expanding its infrastructure and making progress in sectors such as semiconductors, quantum technology, shipbuilding and biotechnology.
