Meat Incident Sparks Tension at Vinayaka Annadanam..

Tension erupted at the Chanchalguda Double Bedroom premises under the jurisdiction of the Madannapet Police Station in Hyderabad during a Vinayaka annadanam programme on Sunday. According to the police complaint, a couple, Mohammed Imran Qureshi and Ayesha Begum, allegedly threw meat during the food distribution programme organised by Hindu devotees. Several Hindu groups gathered at the spot and staged a protest following the incident.

Charminar DCP Kiran Prabhakar Khare visited the spot and assured that the accused would be arrested and sent to judicial custody within 24 hours. Acting on the assurance, Madannapet police arrested Mohammed Imran Qureshi and Ayesha Begum and produced them before the Nampally court. The court remanded the accused, following which police shifted them to Chanchalguda Jail.
