Low-Pressure Area Forms Over North Andaman Sea in Bay of Bengal!

A low-pressure area has formed over the north Andaman Sea and is moving west-northwestwards. The system is likely to intensify into a depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal on Monday and further strengthen into a deep depression on Tuesday. It is expected to continue moving west-northwestwards and approach the south Odisha–north Andhra Pradesh coast around September 23.

Under its influence, rainfall activity is expected to increase across parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall at isolated places on Monday and Tuesday, followed by heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over south Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday. Strong winds are also likely along the coastal Andhra region. Thunderstorms with lightning and moderate rain are possible in Alluri Sitarama Raju, Nandyal and YSR Kadapa districts.
