The TG20 League controversy has created a stir in Telangana cricket circles. The Telangana Cricket Association has issued legal notices to Indian cricketers Mohammed Siraj, Tilak Varma, former cricketer Ambati Rayudu, and film personalities Vijay Deverakonda and Venkatesh Daggubati for allegedly supporting the league, which is accused of being conducted without approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. TCA General Secretary Gurava Reddy confirmed the development.
Gurava Reddy alleged that the TG20 League lacks official approval from the BCCI and criticized the involvement of celebrities in promoting what he termed an unauthorized tournament. He stated that as per BCCI norms, a state-level franchise league must have a governing council and a chairman elected through a general body, procedures that were not followed in this case. He warned that legal action would be initiated if the concerned individuals continue their association with the league despite the notices.
