KTR Slams Telangana Police Over Treatment of Women MLAs

BRS Working President KTR has strongly criticised the Telangana government and police over the alleged treatment of women MLAs who were wearing black sarees. Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s call to “smash patriarchy”, KTR questioned the Congress over the alleged action against women legislators in Telangana. He said former Home Minister and MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy had challenged patriarchy long before Rahul Gandhi entered politics. KTR described the alleged conduct of the police towards the women MLAs as a matter of shame and called it a blot on Indian democracy.

KTR also questioned the rationale behind restricting black clothing in Telangana. In his post on X, he asked whether black attire had been banned in the state and sarcastically questioned if black was permitted only inside Parliament. His remarks came in the wake of the reported police action involving women MLAs wearing black sarees. The BRS leader accused the Congress government of hypocrisy and demanded clarity over the restrictions, while his comments have added to the political debate over the treatment of opposition legislators.
