Key Changes in NEET-PG Examination

The Central Government has announced significant reforms for the NEET-PG 2026 examination to improve convenience and transparency for candidates. For the first time, applicants will be allowed to choose from three preferred examination centres, increasing the chances of getting a centre in their home city or nearby location. The allotted examination centre will also be communicated three weeks in advance, enabling candidates to plan their travel and accommodation well ahead of the exam.

To strengthen the integrity of the examination process, enhanced security measures have been introduced at every stage, from question paper preparation and printing to transportation. Aadhaar-based biometric authentication will be mandatory during both the application process and on the examination day, with iris verification available if fingerprint authentication fails. The exam pattern has also been revised, reducing the number of questions from 200 to 180 while providing a duration of 210 minutes.
