TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud paid rich tributes to renowned people’s poet and Telangana stalwart Kaloji Narayana Rao on his birth anniversary. He said Kaloji’s lifelong struggle for the rights of the people, social justice and the Telangana community would always be remembered. Through his writings, Kaloji questioned social inequalities, public issues and the functioning of rulers, creating awareness among the people. Goud recalled that works such as ‘Naa Godava’ established Kaloji as the voice of the common man.
Goud said Kaloji fought throughout his life for the Telangana movement, democratic values, human rights and social justice. His writings reflected the lifestyle, dialect, language and culture of the people of Telangana, he noted. He called upon the younger generation to carry forward Kaloji’s ideals by questioning injustice, standing with marginalised sections and protecting democratic values. Goud said observing Kaloji’s birth anniversary as Telangana Language Day was a rare honour and a fitting recognition of his contribution to Telangana’s language, dialect and culture.
