The Telangana High Court imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on HyDRA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath for delaying the submission of counter affidavits in a case related to a disputed two-acre land parcel in Survey No. 45 of Hyderabad's Yousufguda area. Expressing strong displeasure over the continued delay, the court directed that the penalty amount be deposited into the Chief Justice's Relief Fund.
The matter came up during the hearing of petitions alleging that HyDRA officials had intervened in the disputed land despite existing court orders. The court noted that Commissioner Ranganath had failed to appear even after being granted a final opportunity earlier. Additionally, a counter petition filed by HyDRA was reportedly rejected on technical grounds. Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar adjourned the case for further hearing to June 15.
