The Telangana government has taken a key step towards transforming Hyderabad into an international medical tourism hub. Plans are being prepared to provide healthcare services to foreign patients in government hospitals, on par with corporate healthcare institutions. The initiative aims to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a preferred destination for quality and affordable medical treatment.
To promote medical tourism in government hospitals, the government has constituted a high-level committee to study the required measures and submit recommendations. The committee comprises TGMSIDC Managing Director Gaurav Uppal, Telangana Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director P. Gauthami, and former NIMS Director Dr. Beerappa. The panel has been asked to conduct a detailed review and submit its report within one month.
