

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rainfall in several districts of Telangana on Sunday due to a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. A yellow alert has been issued for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Peddapalli districts. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely at isolated places across other parts of the state.
Rainfall is expected to continue on Monday in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts, which have also been placed under a yellow alert. In the past 24 hours, Rebben in Asifabad recorded the highest rainfall of 9.35 cm, followed by Karepalli in Khammam with 6.5 cm and Burgampahad in Bhadradri Kothagudem with 6.45 cm. The rains have also increased inflows into the Vattivagu and Kumaram Bheem projects, with 2,172 cusecs of water entering the projects and officials releasing 1,378 cusecs downstream.
