Heavy Inflows to Sripada Yellampalli Project

Heavy inflows from upstream have significantly increased the water level at the Sripada Yellampalli Project in Peddapalli district, Telangana. In response, irrigation authorities opened all 30 spillway gates to release excess floodwater downstream. According to official data, the project recorded an inflow of 4.50 lakh cusecs and an outflow of 3.90 lakh cusecs. The reservoir currently holds 19.70 TMC of water against its full storage capacity of 20.17 TMC.

Officials have issued a warning to residents living in low-lying areas downstream of the project to remain vigilant as water releases continue. Farmers, fishermen and members of the public have been advised not to enter the Godavari River until flood conditions subside. Authorities said the situation is being closely monitored and appropriate safety measures are in place.
