A 65 year old woman died of a heart attack while waiting in a queue to collect her pension in Mududandla village of Chandampet Mandal, Nalgonda district. Ramavath Gugani, a resident of Polyanayak Thanda, depended entirely on her monthly pension after her husband's death. She had been walking nearly three kilometres for three consecutive days to collect her pension but could not receive it because the postmaster was unavailable.
On Wednesday, Gugani again stood in the queue, with around 50 people ahead of her. Due to network issues, pension distribution was delayed, forcing beneficiaries to wait for a long time. After standing in line for nearly one and a half hours, she suddenly collapsed and died. Her family alleged that negligence in pension distribution contributed to the tragic incident.
