EC Directs Telangana Rakshana Sena to Change Party Name

The Election Commission of India has instructed Kalvakuntla Kavitha to change the proposed name of her political party, Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS). According to the Commission, several objections were received from the public regarding the use of the party name, making it unsuitable for approval under the existing application.

The Commission has asked the party to submit three alternative names within 15 days for further consideration. It also warned that if the revised names are not submitted within the stipulated period, the party registration application will be closed automatically without any further communication. The latest development has sparked political discussion in Telangana.
