Drone-based land surveys are transforming the way property records are created and maintained across India. The survey process has been completed in around 3.30 lakh villages, leading to the distribution of more than 3.24 crore property documents. The technology is helping authorities prepare accurate digital maps and update land records with greater efficiency.
In Telangana, drone surveys have been successfully completed in five pilot villages, while efforts are being expanded to other areas. Special focus is being given to villages where maps and old paper-based records are unavailable. Along with agricultural lands, drone technology is also being used in Hyderabad for mapping houses and vacant plots under GHMC limits.
