

Director General of Police (DGP) CV Anand has directed traffic police officials to ensure smooth traffic flow across Hyderabad while minimizing inconvenience to the public. Following recent accidents on the Outer Ring Road and protests related to traffic stoppages during convoy movement, the DGP emphasized strict enforcement of speed control and road safety measures. He also instructed officers to avoid unnecessary stoppage of traffic during VIP movement and ensure citizens are not troubled.
During a review meeting with senior traffic officials, including Joint Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police under GHMC limits, the DGP assessed the current traffic situation and stressed better coordination among departments. He announced that the Telangana government is planning to establish a Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau soon. He also directed intensified enforcement against violations such as drunk driving, helmet non-compliance, and seat belt violations.
