Devotees Flock to Temples on Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual fervour across the Telugu states, with thousands of devotees visiting temples from the early hours of the day. Special prayers, rituals, and abhishekams were performed as devotees expressed gratitude to their spiritual teachers. Sai Baba temples, in particular, witnessed heavy footfall as worshippers offered special prayers and sought blessings on the auspicious occasion.

Guru Purnima is also known as Vyasa Purnima, as it commemorates the birth anniversary of Maharishi Ved Vyasa, the revered sage who compiled the Vedas and authored the Mahabharata. The festival is dedicated to honouring gurus for their guidance and wisdom. Temples, ashrams, and spiritual centres across the country organised special religious programmes, while celebrations in the Telugu states attracted large numbers of devotees.
