Dengue Vaccine Approved in India..

India’s first approved dengue vaccine, QDENGA, is expected to become available in the private market in the first half of 2027. Japan-based Takeda Pharmaceuticals has entered into an exclusive distribution and marketing agreement with Hyderabad-based Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. India’s drug regulator approved QDENGA in July 2026 for use in people aged 4 to 60 years.

QDENGA is designed to provide protection against all four dengue virus serotypes, DENV-1 to DENV-4. To support large-scale vaccine production, Takeda has also partnered with Hyderabad-based Biological E. The partnership is expected to contribute to a combined annual manufacturing capacity of up to 100 million doses by 2029.
