CPI Narayana Responds to Revanth Reddy’s Tweet

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently invited suggestions from the public on naming the upcoming Mamunur Airport in Warangal. The government has said that the required land acquisition has been completed and the land has been handed over to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The proposed airport is being positioned as an important gateway for industry, tourism, education, employment and investment in the Warangal region.

Responding to the Chief Minister’s appeal, CPI leader K. Narayana has suggested naming the airport after former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. Rao was born in Laknepalli in the present-day Warangal region and later served as India’s Prime Minister from 1991 to 1996. The naming discussion has also seen suggestions such as Rudrama International Airport, Kakatiya International Airport and Sammakka-Sarakka International Airport from other respondents. The final name of the airport has not yet been announced.
