High Court Chief Justice Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh said the use of digital platforms and coordination among various departments are crucial for implementing the new criminal laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). He said effective coordination is essential at every stage, from registering a crime and conducting investigations to forensic examination, prosecution and court proceedings. A conference was organised at the Judicial Academy in Secunderabad by the Telangana Judicial Academy and the state police department.
The event brought together all stakeholder institutions involved in the digital implementation of the new criminal laws on a single platform, reportedly making it the first such initiative in the country. Around 1,200 judicial officers and officials from the police, prosecution, prisons, forensic and medical departments participated online and offline. Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya stressed the need to simplify procedures through technology, while DGP CV Anand called for scientific investigations and the effective use of digital evidence to ensure speedy justice.
