CM Chandrababu Reviews Visakha Economic Region Plan

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the development roadmap for the Visakha Economic Region (VER) in Amaravati, outlining an ambitious strategy to attract investments worth ₹9.5 lakh crore through key infrastructure and industrial projects. The proposed plan envisages ₹3.5–4 lakh crore in government investment while mobilising around ₹5.3 lakh crore from the private sector. The Chief Minister said the Bay City (BeCity) Project should serve as the anchor project for the region's long-term development.

Naidu emphasized that the VER project should be driven by micro-level planning, ensuring comprehensive development across every region and sector within its jurisdiction. He directed officials to prioritize AI data centre ecosystems, port-led industries, tourism, hydrogen, and clean-tech energy, while integrating projects ranging from Mulapeta Port to the Rajamahendravaram Akhanda Godavari Project. He also stressed the importance of convergence of funds, project integration, and implementing the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme wherever required. Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and senior officials from finance, industries, municipal administration, forests, energy, and tourism departments attended the review meeting.
