A Vijayawada court has remanded Circle Inspector Nagaraju to judicial custody for 14 days in connection with the Sai Krishna case. Based on the findings submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the court ordered his transfer to Rajahmundry Central Jail. The SIT report alleges that Sai Krishna was taken into custody by Krishna Lanka police after being apprehended in Markapuram on May 6 and was subsequently brought to the Krishna Lanka Police Station.
According to the SIT, Sai Krishna may have died after sustaining severe injuries while in police custody. Investigators alleged that officials deliberately concealed his detention and provided misleading information to the High Court. The report further states that crucial evidence related to the case was destroyed, including CCTV footage from May 1 to June 1, 2026. The SIT argued that if released, CI Nagaraju could influence witnesses and hamper the investigation, recommending further custodial interrogation.
