The NEET UG paper leak case has triggered nationwide concern among students and parents, with the CBI uncovering the alleged involvement of a beauty parlour owner in the massive examination scam. According to the investigation agency, 46-year-old Manisha Waghmare from Pune played a crucial role in the conspiracy. She was arrested by the CBI on May 14 and is currently in custody. Her name surfaced during the arrests of Chemistry professor P.V. Kulkarni and Botany professor Manisha Gurunath Mandare. Investigators revealed that Mandare, who was part of the NEET question paper preparation panel, had access to Botany and Zoology papers.
CBI officials stated that Waghmare, along with Mandare, Kulkarni, and other accused individuals, allegedly supplied exam questions to students willing to pay large sums of money. Reports suggest that deals worth ₹10 lakh were struck with several candidates. The leaked papers reportedly moved through multiple intermediaries before reaching agents in Gurugram and Jaipur in PDF format. In another development, CBI arrested Shivraj Raghunath, founder of Renukai Chemistry Classes in Maharashtra’s Latur district, after investigators allegedly found leaked question papers on his mobile phone. The case has intensified criticism over examination security and the functioning of the education system.
