Popular playback singer Vedala Hemachandra has responded to the long-running speculation surrounding his personal life, particularly reports about an alleged divorce from singer Shravan Bhargavi. In a recent interview, Hemachandra said that rumours about their relationship have been circulating for nearly three years, even though neither of them has publicly spoken about the matter.
Hemachandra criticised sensational content and misleading thumbnails used by some YouTube channels. He referred to a thumbnail that suggested his daughter was asking her parents to reunite and questioned how anyone could claim to know about events that had never happened within their family. He said such content may appear creative, but creators should avoid crossing boundaries that could cause embarrassment or distress to families.
The singer also shared his view on how celebrities should handle controversies. He suggested that people should avoid immediately taking personal matters into the public domain and instead take time to process and resolve issues privately. According to Hemachandra, prolonged public discussions can affect not only celebrities but also family members, including children, who may not understand the circumstances behind such speculation.
Hemachandra also pointed listeners towards his album “ADHD”, particularly the song “You Are Mine”, saying that it reflects his emotional journey. He further praised Shravan Bhargavi as an exceptionally talented pop artist and said that many people are yet to see the full extent of her abilities.
