Konda Surekha Responds to TPCC Notice

Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has submitted a written explanation to TPCC Disciplinary Committee chairman Mallu Ravi in response to the notice issued over remarks made by her daughter, Konda Sushmita. The notice followed Sushmita’s comments concerning Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, which the party considered a matter requiring clarification.

In her response, Surekha said Congress workers and supporters organised birthday celebrations and service programmes across the state on August 19. She explained that Sushmita attended the event in Geesugonda because of her special association with the area and made the remarks in her personal capacity. Surekha argued that one person should not be held politically responsible for the personal opinions of another merely because of a family relationship. She also reiterated her respect for the Congress leadership and party disciplinary rules and requested the committee to withdraw the notice, stating that she had no involvement in her daughter’s comments.
