Big Relief for RWS Contractors in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh government has provided major relief to Rural Water Supply (RWS) contractors by releasing ₹620 crore towards pending bills. Contractors welcomed the decision and expressed their gratitude to the coalition government by performing a milk abhishekam for portraits of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan outside the Jana Sena Party office in Mangalagiri. Navya Andhra RWS Contractors Association general secretary Koneru Srinivas Prasad thanked Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan for clearing pending bills related to Jal Jeevan Mission contractors. He said payments for bills pending up to March 31, 2026, had been completed with the Chief Minister’s support.

Srinivas said Pawan Kalyan had assured contractors during a meeting on June 18 this year that pending payments would be cleared at the earliest. He added that officials had worked continuously to process the payments. The government also paid ₹647 crore in bills for retrofitting works from November 2024 to March 31, 2026. Under the Sparsha scheme, around ₹138 crore is still due, of which approximately ₹70 crore has been paid so far due to technical issues. The association said the release of pending bills has provided financial relief to RWS contractors in the MSME sector and their dependent families. It added that the government has assured them of a structured monthly payment system going forward.
