Bandi Sanjay Seeks Probe into Panchayat Funds Misuse Allegations

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has raised concerns over the alleged misuse of Central Finance Commission funds released to village panchayats in Telangana. He claimed that complaints were received from several sarpanches alleging that they were being pressured to spend the 15th Finance Commission funds against the prescribed guidelines.

Bandi Sanjay wrote letters to Union Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) and Telangana Panchayati Raj Minister Dansari Seethakka, seeking a detailed and impartial inquiry into the utilization of funds. He emphasized that transparency, accountability, and financial discipline must be maintained in the Panchayati Raj system, which forms the foundation of rural democracy.
