Andhra Pradesh Increases Stipends for Medical Students

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced an increase in stipends for medical students and trainees across various categories. MBBS and BDS house surgeons will receive a 10% increase in their stipend. The revised rates will also cover interns, postgraduate, super-speciality, MDS and DNB students from January 1, 2026.

Postgraduate degree and diploma students will receive a 5% increase under the revised structure. In addition, the government has decided to provide an annual 3.5% increase in stipends from January 1, 2027. The move is aimed at revising the financial support provided to medical students and trainees in the state.
