Actor and professional wrestler Saurav Gurjar, known for playing Bhima in the television series ‘Mahabharat’, has been arrested by Gachibowli police in Hyderabad. The arrest follows a complaint by a woman who alleged that Gurjar had promised to marry her and subsequently subjected her to physical and mental harassment. According to her complaint, she met Gurjar through Instagram in 2021 and their relationship later continued through WhatsApp. She said they remained in contact while she was in the United States and after she returned to India. The woman alleged that Gurjar persuaded her to leave her job in the US by promising to start a business together. She also claimed that he would block her whenever she questioned him about marriage. According to the complaint, they lived together from October 2025 to March 2026, after which she alleged that he later disappeared without informing her.
Following the complaint, Gachibowli police traced Gurjar to Mumbai and detained him at the airport before bringing him back to Hyderabad for further legal proceedings. Police are investigating the allegations made by the complainant. Gurjar, who hails from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, became widely known for portraying Bhima in ‘Mahabharat’. He is also a professional wrestler who performed as Sanga during his WWE stint and has acted in films including ‘Brahmastra’.
