Television actor Akanksha Puri has made a startling claim that celebrities are being offered money to participate in protest rallies. According to her, she and several other actors recently received payment offers to join demonstrations linked to the NEET students' agitation and Sonam Wangchuk's ongoing movement. She immediately rejected the proposal and made it clear that she has no interest in what she called "paid protests".
Reacting strongly to the offers, Akanksha stated, "I don't want to be part of this garbage". Her remarks have ignited a fresh debate on social media, with many questioning whether celebrities are being used to lend visibility to protest movements. However, she did not provide any evidence to support her allegation nor did she name anyone behind the alleged offers, leaving the claims unverified.
