Former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant K.M. Tahsif Suri has died under suspicious circumstances, with his body found in a river in Dhaka, police said on Thursday. According to officials, the body was recovered from the Rajabari Ghat area of the Turag River. Suri had reportedly filmed the footage of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaving the country after being ousted from power in 2024. The reported connection has brought renewed attention to his death.
Suri was dismissed from service in 2024. Sources familiar with the matter reportedly said that the government had kept him under surveillance. On Tuesday, he spent the day shopping with his mother. He later left home that evening and did not return. His body was subsequently found in the river. Police have not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding his death or the possible cause.
