

India's total telecom subscriber base rose to 1.348 billion (134.8 crore) in June, driven by strong customer additions by Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio. According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the telecom sector continued to witness steady growth during the month.
Bharti Airtel added 3.163 million new subscribers in June compared to May, including 2.989 million mobile users and 173,000 fixed-line connections. Reliance Jio recorded a net addition of 2.291 million subscribers, comprising 2.146 million mobile users and 144,000 fixed line customers. Out of the total 6.2 million new subscribers added during the month, 5.454 million joined Airtel and Jio.
Broadband subscriptions also increased from 1.08 billion in May to 1.0875 billion in June. Reliance Jio remained the market leader with 532.2 million broadband users, followed by Airtel with 379.9 million, Vodafone Idea with 130 million, and BSNL with 27 million subscribers. Vodafone Idea added 164,000 wireless users, while BSNL gained 94,006 subscribers and MTNL lost 11,284 users.
