Indian equity markets ended higher on Wednesday, with benchmark indices rebounding amid easing concerns over crude oil prices and hopes of de-escalation in West Asia. The Sensex gained 299.17 points, or 0.40%, to close at 74,828.25, while the Nifty rose 117.80 points, or 0.50%, to settle at 23,446.80.
Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and Hindalco Industries were among the top gainers on the Nifty 50. Broader markets also advanced, with the Nifty Midcap 100 rising 0.7% and the Nifty Smallcap 100 gaining 0.9%. Among sectors, Nifty Metal led the gains with a 2.4% rise, while FMCG stocks also performed strongly. In contrast, the IT sector remained under pressure, with Nifty IT declining about 0.8%.
