Microsoft Launches Fourth Cloud Region in India in Hyderabad

Microsoft has launched its fourth cloud region in India in Hyderabad, expanding the company’s cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure footprint in the country. Named India South Central, the new datacenter region is already live and forms part of Microsoft’s previously announced $20.5 billion investment commitment in India. The Hyderabad region joins Microsoft’s existing cloud regions in Pune, Chennai and Mumbai.

The new Hyderabad region features a resilient three-zone architecture designed to support advanced AI workloads and the wider expansion of Azure services. Microsoft said the facility uses high-efficiency mechanical cooling with effectively zero water use for cooling. The company has also designated India South Central as a strategic hub for Asia and the Global South, with plans to progressively expand its Azure and AI capabilities.
