Apple Inc. has reportedly delayed the launch of its much-anticipated smart home display because several planned artificial intelligence features are not yet ready. According to journalist Mark Gurman, the device was initially expected to arrive earlier but the company postponed it as the upgraded version of Siri is still under development. Apple is now likely targeting a launch around September once the new assistant features are completed.
The device is expected to resemble a square tablet placed on a dome-shaped speaker base and may also support wall mounting. Reports suggest it will feature a 7-inch display, a USB-C charging port, and an aluminium body. The interface may include circular app icons similar to the layout on the Apple Watch and support facial recognition to show personalised details like reminders, calendar events, and news. Apple is also working on several other AI-powered products, including smart glasses and camera-equipped earbuds, which may use the improved Siri system in future devices such as the iPhone 18 Pro.
