Leaks surrounding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series are gaining momentum, with a fresh report suggesting that the company may continue its dual-chip strategy in 2027. According to South Korean tipster yeux1122, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, while the Galaxy S27 Pro may use the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Meanwhile, the regular Galaxy S27 and S27+ are expected to be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2700 chipset. The reported plan contradicts earlier claims that Samsung was considering replacing Snapdragon with Exynos in select markets due to alleged efficiency and overheating concerns. However, Qualcomm’s CMO Don McGuire has rejected claims of systemic thermal issues with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. It remains unclear whether Samsung will follow the same processor strategy in all markets.
Apart from the processors, reports indicate that the Galaxy S27 Ultra may pack a 5,700mAh battery, while the S27 Pro could feature a 5,200mAh unit. These would be upgrades over the 5,000mAh batteries used in previous Ultra models. The Ultra and Pro variants are also expected to feature a new rectangular camera island on the rear, while the standard models may retain the floating camera design. The reported differences suggest that Samsung is continuing to distinguish its premium models from the regular variants. The Galaxy S27 series is tipped to launch in late January or early February 2027, although Samsung has not officially confirmed the specifications or launch date.
