Vaibhav’s Stunning Reaction to Ishan’s Punch

East Zone’s Duleep Trophy triumph featured strong contributions from captain Ishan Kishan and vice-captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi. While Ishan was named Player of the Match for his impressive batting, young Vaibhav also made an impact with both his performances and leadership. When Ishan was unavailable due to injury, Vaibhav took charge as captain and played an important role in DRS decisions. In a video released by the BCCI’s domestic cricket department, Ishan playfully teased Vaibhav over the attention he received for the DRS calls. Ishan joked that Vaibhav received all the credit despite the captain being the one making the final review decisions.

Vaibhav responded with a witty comeback, reminding Ishan that when the captain was on the field, he was the one suggesting reviews, but when Ishan was injured and in the pavilion, Vaibhav himself took the DRS calls. Ishan was impressed by the youngster’s response and praised his leadership qualities. He said Vaibhav could potentially become a captain in the future and added that having him in the team helps reduce pressure. Ishan also joked that Vaibhav is the only junior in the squad before ending the exchange on a light-hearted note.
