Foreign companies interested in buying RCB

It is well known that Diageo is ready to sell the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team, which emerged as the winner of the 2025 IPL tournament. An announcement has stated that a new owner will take over the team by March 31 next year. In this context, many domestic and international companies are coming forward to purchase RCB. Recently, however, the name of another new company has emerged. The owners of the Welsh Fire franchise from The Hundred League are reportedly interested in buying RCB.

The Welsh Fire franchise is co-owned by American tech billionaire Sanjay Govil and the Glamorgan Cricket Club. Sanjay Govil is also the owner of the Washington Freedom team in the American Major Cricket League. Now, he has shown interest in purchasing the RCB team. It is estimated that acquiring the RCB team would require nearly two billion dollars, and Sanjay Govil is reportedly willing to make that investment without hesitation.
